This year's SOUP KITCHEN is estimated to feed 7000 people and is affecting 20 communities in Northern Region and Ashanti Region.

it is estimated there are between 143 million and 210 million orphans worldwide (recent UNICEF report.) According to data released in 2003 as many as eight million boys and girls around the world live in institutional care. Every day 5,760 more children become orphans. Each year 14, 505, 000 children grow up as orphans and age out of the system by age sixteen. Each day 38,493 orphans age out, Every 2.2 seconds another orphan ages out with no family to belong to and no place to call home.

In our little satisfied corners we are tempted to think that all is well with everyone. We take for granted our blessings of food and forget that although we are going to bed on a full stomach, there are others who haven’t eaten the whole day. They go to bed on empty stomachs for nights on end.

We waste food but forget that over 925 million people in the world cannot eat a balanced diet. Out of this over 10, 525, 768 people die annually from hunger. Many of them are children under 5 years who are not only malnourished but also hungry.

Where would you be on 25th December, 2013?

The world is saddled with a lot of people with needs; these people wait anxiously for a helping hand. However, most do not get anyone to reach out to them. The aged, the youth and children are the most venerable. These are left without hope of a brighter day. In order to light up hope in the hearts of these deprived and destitute ones, it would be necessary to give our time, money and love. We would need to move from our comfort zones and reach out to them, if not all at once, then one at a time.

These people cannot afford the basic necessities of life and this has caused them to despair and has plunged some into vice. These ones do not have any sense of belonging. We at Dynamic Vessels International (DVI) love to give to these ones. It is our joy to spread love and give people hope! This is why we spend Christmas day with these folks, so they would know that they are loved and cherished. Where would you be this Christmas? We would like to invite you to spend time and show love to those who really need it.

This year’s Soup Kitchen comes off on 25th December at Jubilee Park, Kumasi near Prempeh Assembly Hall, Ghana. This Christmas, we will be spending quality time with orphans and street children! We would provide them with free medical care, feed, entertain and give out clothing to these precious ones! What do you have? It does not matter what you have, because it can make all the difference in someone’s live! We would like to encourage you to be a volunteer!
